La Puerta Abierta had a beautiful field trip to the Butterfly Garden and park outside of town near Chikmuk. The teachers presented a a song and dance to welcome all the fathers.
Some fathers stood by to capture the sweet moment.
After the song and dance we took a short hike up the near by trail. The fathers happily guided their little ones along the path.
Lil Cesia said to her papa as they climbed up the trail, “Con cuidado papi… (Be careful daddy).”
After the short but exhilarating hike we split into two groups. Half of the fathers participated in a scavenger hunt with their children and the other half visited the butterfly garden. The fathers and kids were on a scavenger hunt to find ants, plants, and dragonflies…
The fathers and children listened to a presentation from the park guide about the butterfly garden and all of their environmentally sustainable methods used to enhance the tranquility of thesanctuary.
Then the children from each class excitedly presented their handmade gifts to their fathers. This moment was so touching and truly made the papas grateful.
We would like to thank all of the fathers who were able to join us for this beautiful celebration of Dia de Los Padres. Happy Father’s Day to all of our special fathers!
