Magdalena Mesia Ixbalán

I am Magdalena. I have a 13-year-old son named Jeremías. My husband is José. I love my little family and I like knowing that my work is worthwhile and helps me give my son an education.

I participate in the Madres Artesanas group because I need work and an income. I also want to continue learning since I didn’t have the opportunity to study before. Previously I worked with traditional embroidery (blouses), which I liked, but I prefer to make ornaments. My husband and my son are amazed and proud of my work, and when I finish they say, “Incredible! How did you do that?”  They also want to learn and help me.

I hope that  our work continues  and that our group  grows so that we can reach our dreams and support our families.
